Tree Planting with 1% for the Planet

A cold morning, open land, tools in hand, people arriving from different places for the same reason.
At Westerlands, part of the Weald to Waves 100-mile nature corridor, three 1% for the Planet members, Forests Without Frontiers, Weald to Waves and our team, came together to take part in something practical: building habitat, from the ground up.
60 volunteers.
1,000 trees planted in a single day.
Not as a gesture, but as part of a long-term shift, creating scrubland habitat designed to reconnect a fragmented landscape.
Working with Director Duncan Nicholls, the day was documented as it unfolded, capturing the pace, physicality and collaboration behind it.
This is what nature restoration looks like in practice, not a distant idea, but people showing up, working together, and reshaping a landscape in real time.
Join a day in nature.
