Last spring, alongside volunteers and partners, we planted 1,000 young trees at Westerlands in West Sussex. This September, we’re heading back.

The first year in a tree’s life is one of the most important. Tree tending plays a vital role in helping saplings establish, giving them the best possible chance to grow into a resilient woodland that will support biodiversity for generations to come.

Together with Forests Without Frontiers, we’re inviting our community back to the site for a day of hands-on care and connection to the landscape. Whether you joined us for the planting day or are coming along for the first time, it’s an opportunity to take practical action for nature recovery across the Weald to Waves corridor.

The day will bring together volunteers, partners and local communities to care for the young trees, alongside time to connect, share and reflect on the impact of collective action.
